I sigh and think how great things have been and how much better things were back then... no fear.. no need to have a courage that I've never known. The sky looks as if it's going to rain again. I press my forehead to the glass pane smiling at the play of animals that are awakening. "what are you doing?" I whip around realizing I was supposed to do something.. shit.. what was it??? I glance at the clock, the table, the stove and oven.. SHIT I didn't make anything to welcome you home with.. "I was about to start.." You slap me hard across the face. "you should have already made something." You sneer at me and I cringe "I'm sorry! I'll start right now.. just let me pass" you raise your fist this time.. I watch in slow motion.. as if I'm not in my body to feel you knock me to the floor in anger at my idiocy. I don't feel anything except panic.. I can't breath.. you hit my stomach pretty hard this time.. I'm gasping for breath as you grab my hair and yank my head up. "GET THE FUCK UP AND MAKE ME SOMETHING!" You throw me face first into the oven. I hear the sickening crunch that was my nose and feel the warm ooze down my upper lip. "Clean this mess up too." I cringe away from you as you raise your hand to backhand me.. I feel the bile rise up, too quick to stop it before it splatters upon your neat shoes. You backhand me and start beating me worse.. I begin to beg for mercy. I've never begged more in my life than when you beat me.. I know if I can't stop you.. you won't stop on your own and I'll die. I don't want to die.. i want to live and enjoy the sunshine one more time.. just once more like always.. I beg harder.. though you can't understand me.. I cry and scream when you hit me.. trying to trick you into thinking that you've hurt me more than you really did. praying it would be enough to satisfy your blood lust. I attempt to crawl away from you as you bellow incoherant thoughts at me.. calling me a cunt and a selfish bitch... all I want is to live and be happy.. is that so much to ask? I pray for the darkness to overwhelm me.. I'd rather die than suffer this anymore.. the rings on my finger hit the floor knocking the diamond loose, it skitters across the floor stopping in a pool of blood. I wait until I am safe with a doctor in the room before i say anything.. the doctor isn't very big but goes around me checking all my vitals asking me questions.. I don't answer... he looks at me noticing the fear in me. "are you okay hunny?" He queries trying to console me from what ever is ailing me.. I whisper the fatal words "I want a divorce" My husband stiffens as his dark eyes turn flat black.. they read murder deep within them. "we will discuss this later" he manages to tell me with out causing suspicion.. "No. I want someone here.. Doctor.. help me.. please don't leave me with him!" The doctor looks at me noticing my terror. The doctor nods, "I will be right back, not to worry miss." the doctor leaves, less than a second later you bar the door so no one can get in. I start screaming.. drowning in my own fear, "PLEASE! DON'T! VEGA! NO!" I move as fast as i can away from you.. you have found the scalpels for emergency use within my room.. God please.. save me! The people on the other side are banging against the door as hard as they can, but it's no use.. you've learned how to manipulate situations into your favor. I'm never going to escape you now you tell me so.. the tears flow freely.. I take a deep breath and let it settle in my lungs.. I'm not going to scream. I'm going to take this silently.. you're going to prove me wrong. I close my eyes and wait for your attack. you never hesitate.. I feel the bite of the blade cut into my skin.. you love to torture.. it's in your nature.. right down to the way you make love. You lick the blood away commenting that I taste like shit.. a soft sob escapes me..
